Ohmigosh my Campside Cardi is done!
Look, guys, I’m not one for lying to you.
I’m not going to sit here and tell you that I finish every project I ever start because that would be one big fat whopper of a porky pie!
In fact, I RARELY finish projects I start. This is a terrible confession for me to make, especially as I’m teaching you about knitting; but the point is, I’m teaching you HOW to knit, not how to finish a knitting project! I know an awful lot about knitting (if I do say so myself!) and technique, I just get bored of doing the same thing pretty easily!
When I see a shiny new pattern that I want to try, I kind of forget about everything else I’m working on. Then the excitement wears off for the new one, and I roll onto my next new shiny exciting thing. That’s pretty terrible really, isn’t it?
Anyway, enough of how awful I am, for once I actually finished something!
Again, I’m not going to lie to you and tell you I finished the Campside Cardi well within the constraints of November, as per the rules of NaKniSweMo. I took way longer than that. I didn’t end up finishing it until the 31st December. BUT, I did it. Yay! Aren’t you proud?
So, here’s the finished cardigan. I’m absolutely in love with it, the yarn is beautifully soft and I love the neutral colour and delicate lacework gradient.
The beauty of this cardigan is that due to the lace holes, it will still be perfect even in Spring (and probably Summer, because you know… UK.)
I have more of this yarn in a beautiful cool toned creamy white shade, so I’m knitting this again but in the bigger size so I have a slouchier one too!
It’s very rare for me to even get around to knitting the second sock, so to knit a second version of the same sweater means I REALLY love it.
Alicia Plummer has some absolutely STUNNING patterns; head on over to her Ravelry page now to check them out – I promise you won’t regret it!
If you would love to learn to knit but have always felt as though you don’t have the creativity or skills to do it, then I’m here to prove you wrong.
