Okay, okay, I know, I said I would be doing this whole “Finished Project Friday” thing, you know, on a Friday. Buuut I failed at that, as I fail at many things that require me to actually do what I say I’m going to do. I’m a flake, I know.
But here it is, finally. I made a thing! It’s a seriously squishy and cosy seed/moss stitch cowl (I never know whether there is a difference between those two stitches, or whether it’s just one of those UK/USA things we find a lot of in knitting terminology). It’s a birthday present for my littlest sister who is going 10 this month, so it ties in nicely with one of my New Year’s Resolutions, which is to be better at birthdays.
It was a pretty good idea on my part if I do say so myself, I finished making it while she was at my house (she doesn’t know it’s for her), and she asked what it was and if she could try it on. I told her it was for me when I’m going to work on a morning, but let her try it on, at which point she snuggled up into it and proclaimed that she loved it and it was the cosiest thing ever and she wants it. Safe to say, I’m feeling pretty confident in this year’s birthday gift for her!
I didn’t follow a pattern, I just cast on 20 stitches with two ends of chunky yarn, knit them in a seed stitch pattern until it was long enough to fit around my head, then sewed it up and blocked it. Easy peasy lemon squeezy!
What have you finished working on recently? And also, are you as much of a flake as me? And how do I stop?!
