Following on from last week’s post, I decided to throw together a useful needle size chart too.

As I mentioned last week, knitting is super universal craft. It spans all four corners of the globe (I love that phrase because it is so scientifically inaccurate that I find it funny. I know, I have an odd sense of humour!) and while it is amazing that no matter who we are, where we are from, or the lives we lead, we are brought together by a common passion.

Blissfully Crafted was created because of my love of knitting, and my love of community. I wanted to create a beautiful community full of warm, creative, passionate souls, and I genuinely feel I have achieved that goal and I have so much love for every one of you.

Anyway, I digress.

That was quite a tangent wasn’t it?!

Basically, the point I was trying to make is that because knitting is such a worldwide skill, there isn’t really a universal “currency” so to speak. The names and weights of yarns vary from country to country, and the numbers used to represent needle sizes also vary dramatically. This can make it pretty challenging for a newbie knitter to grasp. It certainly took me a long time to get my head around it, and I still have to use this guide from time to time!

So, in a bid to make this process a little smoother for you, I’ve put together a knitting needle size conversion guide.
