Following on from my previous post, Yarn Dyeing Adventures, I thought I would update you on my new love.
I have been really quite addicted to the whole process, I get a real buzz everytime I create a new and beautiful yarn, and when they don’t work out quite how I expected it doesn’t upset me, it makes me think about what I could do to improve it. For the first time since learning how to knit, I feel really passionate about a craft, and I am constantly thinking of how I could produce a yarn inspired by different colour ways, and what different yarns would look like when knitted.
Seeing as I can only use so much yarn at one time, and I am certainly not quick or dedicated enough knitter to knit all of this myself, I thought I would list it for sale in my Etsy shop. Anything that doesn’t sell after 4 months may become a permanent member of my stash.
As you can probably tell, purple is my favourite colour. I just think it such a perfect, rich hue with so many beautiful tones and shades, however I do love the other colours I’ve managed to achieve as well!
I would be so grateful if you would hop over to my Etsy shop – BlissfullyCrafted – and take a look at my stock, favourite my page if you have your own account, and maybe even buy something if there’s anything that catches your eye! It would really help my little shop.
What do you think of my experiment so far? Do you like the colours, or do you have any suggestions for colour schemes you think I could experiment with? What about the placement of the colours? So far I’ve either been dyeing them in a pot, or hand painting them, but I’d love to try and create self striping yarns and similar dye patterns! Do you think these are something you would enjoy knitting with? I’d love to hear what you think in the comments below!
