6 Top Projects for Autumn Knitting
Apparently, it's time for some Autumn Knitting.
I know it's only just September, but we are only 15 days(!) away from the Autumn Equinox. I'm not complaining, though, I love the turning of the seasons, whether it's Spring or Winter! (I don’t necessarily love the seasons themselves… but the anticipation of a new season, absolutely!) I always find the start of a new season makes me feel invigorated and excited for what's to come! So, seeing as we will shortly be hit by the cool crisp weather (in the UK at least), and an onslaught of pumpkin spiced stuff, I thought I would do a round-up of my 6 top knitting projects for Autumn (or Fall, depending on where you are!)
1. Mug cosies
Well, you need to keep your pumpkin spiced, extra hot, extra whip, skinny triple venti grande Americano chai caramel macchiato warm, don't you?!
2. Fingerless mitts
It's not quite cold enough for full gloves yet, but there is a nip in the air.
Obviously, you still need to be able to knit (or use your smartphone), so being able to use your fingers is essential.
Fingerless mitts are clearly the answer! They're quick and easy to knit, they look stylish, and they're practical! What more do you want?
3. Chunky cardigans
Everyone loves a chunky, oversized cardigan. They're cosy, they're comfy, they're practical, plus, they look stylish no matter how you wear them!
Team it with a long t-shirt, leggings and a pair of boots, and you're onto a winner!
4. Cosy blankets
The nights are getting longer, so the evenings are getting colder and darker. Snuggling up under a big knitted blanket, with a hot chocolate, Netflix and some knitting is really the only way to spend those autumnal evenings!
Plus, when you're knitting the blanket, you can snuggle under it for extra warmth! It's really a win-win situation.
5. Knitted pumpkins
If you're like me, you like to switch up the decor in your house regularly. I usually do it by season, warm coloured cushions and blankets in Winter, brightly coloured flowers in Spring... you get the idea.
Seeing as everything in Autumn tends to be pumpkin-oriented, you could try these cute pumpkin decorations. They'd look pretty adorable as a centrepiece I think!
6. Knitted skirts
I LOVE knitted skirts. I would go so far as to say I'm a little bit obsessed with them. They're cute, they're stylish, they look great with leggings so you can stay toasty warm. They're just fab.
They'll probably keep your bum warm too. Just sayin'...
