Knitting New Year's Resolutions

Guess what you guys?

So, the first order of business is for me to wish you all a very Happy New Year!

I hope you had a fantastic Festive season, managed to enjoy some well deserved R&R, and are ready and raring to go for 2019 - I know I am!

Every year I make Knitting New Year's Resolutions.

I know it's kinda cliché, with the whole "New Year, new me!" thing, so I promise I won't get all deep and introspective on you. However, I do think it's always worth looking back over your year; celebrating the wins, accepting the losses, and planning for an even better year to come. I have several goals, many of which are personal to me, and probably boring for you. However, I thought you may be interested to hear my 2 Knitty New Year's Resolutions, and my Blissfully Crafted ones too; that way you can slap my wrists when I start slacking!

1. Knit 4 Sweaters

Since NaKniSweMo 2014, I have only knit TWO sweaters. One, for NaKnitSweMo 2014, obviously, and the other? NaKniSweMo 2016. Up until now, I have only had the drive to knit a sweater when I'm taking part in a challenge, which I think is RIDICULOUS. I love knitting sweaters, I love wearing sweaters, and I live in the UK. Even our Summer is pretty cold most of the time.

So, this year I have made the decision to really challenge myself, and I intend to knit four sweaters. It took me until the 31st December 2016 to complete the Campside Cardi (so I basically failed at NaKniSweMo) and I adore it. When I was planning it, I bought enough yarn to make it in two different colours, so that will be the sweater I knit in the first Quarter. I will keep you updated as I decide the rest of the year's sweaters!

I decided to track this using my trusty Bullet Journal because I'm completely obsessed (obviously!), so I created some cute little sweater doodles to colour in once I've completed one of my sweaters! I've also set the target of reading 24 books in 2019, which I thought was a stretch... It's now the 4th January and I've already read 2. Go Figure!

2. Post to my Instagram DAILY

I LOVE Instagram. When it comes to social media, it is by far my favourite. I'm not a Facebook or Twitter fan, although I do have them.

It is no secret that my photography skills are not too cracking. I look at other Instagram profiles, and they are beautiful and perfectly curated, with an exceptionally cohesive theme, and I feel as though mine is the ugly cousin in comparison.

BUT, I'm not going to let this dissuade me. I am going to try and post every single day. It may not be perfect or even close. My photography skills may leave a lot to be desired. But you only learn by doing, so instead of letting my fear of imperfection get the better of me, I'm going to figure out how to make the platform work for me - because it makes me happy!

I will be posting regular New Years Resolution progress updates, so if you want to join me on my journey, and yell at me when I start slacking follow me over on Instagram!
